Annual Meeting and Board Elections

Docomomo US/Chicago is looking for new members to join our Board of Directors or to serve as committee volunteers. Our chapter is a dynamic and diverse group of people interested in protecting and appreciating our Modernist built heritage for future generations. Board candidates do not need to work in architecture, academia, or historic preservation…but an interest in Modern architecture, design, urban planning, or advocacy is a must.  

Board terms are two years in length. The Board meets on the second Wednesday of every month. Quarterly Board meetings will be held in-person in the evening; the remainder of meetings will be held virtually at noon.  The Docomomo US/Chicago Board is an active volunteer board.  There is no financial commitment, but Board members are expected to actively contribute to monthly board meetings, working committees, and local chapter events. Board members are required to be Docomomo US members.

If you’re interested in joining the Board, please submit a 1-page letter of interest and a brief bio addressed to the Nominating Committee by email at info@docomomo-chicago.org  These items will be shared with chapter members as part of the election slate.  

The deadline for Board candidates’ letters of interest is Sunday, August 29, 2021 by end of day.  The chapter nominating committee will review the slate of candidates. New Board members will be elected at the Annual Meeting to be held virtually on Tuesday, September 14, 2021.
